Job Description

An Aerospace Software Development Engineer job in Greenville, TX 75402 (or Plano, TX 75024) is currently available through Belcan at one of our key aerospace clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelors of Engineering in electrical, computer science, aerospace or equivalent and 4+ years' of relevant experience.

The software engineer will develop, test and implement software solutions to meet customer requirements. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and other team members to develop software solutions, adhering to customer standards on a various aircraft platforms.

Job Duties:

· Research, design, and development of application software in multi-tier architectures to configure and manage Mission Communications Systems equipment. Establish and follow software development processes to ensure test equipment software is reliable, released and configuration managed

· Analyzes requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints

· Ability to develop and analyze design tradeoffs against scope, cost, and schedule constraints

· Perform coding and unit test of resultant software

· Identifying, tracking, and repairing defects. Support continuous improvement, process innovation and lessons learned activities into software development process

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical, aerospace or computer engineering or a related field

· 4+ years of software development, integration, systems engineering and/or testing experience

· Multi-process/multi-thread and shared memory environments

· Usage of complex data structures via various methods of storage/access

· Strong software skills using C++, C, Java

· Experience developing, testing, and debugging in the Linux OS.

· Experience in full life cycle development of embedded software that requires a regulatory approval is desired (DO-178B/C and ARP-4754/ARP-4761)

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills regarding technical subjects

· Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

· Experience with Atlassian Tools and methodologies

· Experience working with DevSecOps including CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Artifactory)

· Experience in the use of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) methodologies

· Familiarity with Networking/Telecommunication fundamentals and equipment.

· Familiarity with web-based application development and user interfaces (e.g., React)

· Model based development experience is preferred (Simulink or similar)

· Experience with Python

Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $90,000-130,000, however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
