Summary
Penn's Center for Neuroengineering & Therapeutics (CNT) is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator A to participate in a collaborative research group focused on developing devices, diagnostics and treatments that can restore brain and nervous system function after it has been lost to disease or disability. The CNT brings together clinician scientists and engineers to effectively bring these critical technologies to patient care. The ideal candidate will have an interest in biomedical research, be enthusiastic and highly motivated to participate in team science, have strong computing skills, and experience in working with human subjects. This position offers the opportunity to participate in an innovative research environment, gain hands-on experience with a variety of data analysis techniques, learn about the neuroscience of movement disorders, and make critical contributions to primary research publications and grant proposals, including publishing as an author where appropriate.

Position responsibilities are to provide programmatic support for the Hammer Neuromodulation Lab within the Center for Neuroengineering, working both independently and collaboratively within a team to provide research support such as:

1) Maintain Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, continuing reviews, and amendments in accordance with federal and institutional guidelines, 2) Identify and screen potential research participants through chart reviews, referrals, and outreach, 3) Develop and maintain databases for study tracking and data entry, 4) Schedule and coordinate study visits, assessments, and procedures according to protocol timelines, 5) Assist in acquisition of neurophysiologic and behavioral data (e.g., EEG, EMG, clinical ratings), 6) Attend research and clinical conferences/meetings at Penn and with external collaborators, 7) perform introductory-level data analyses under supervision.

Hiring range minimum for this position is $46,500.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Prior experience in human subjects research preferred.
  • Prior experience in signal processing and/or data science preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
