Rate: 40-50/hr on W2

Location: Westlake, TX

MUST HAVE: Cobol, DB2, VSAM and JCL / A lot of experience in data handling / Mainframe experience 3-5+ years.

DATA CONVERSION CONSULTANT
The Workplace Investing Data Conversion and Implementation team is looking for a Data Conversion Specialist/Senior Software Engineer in our Stock Plan Services organization to help design, build and support next generation / emerging products.
The Expertise We're Looking For
The ideal candidate with strong mainframe experience is required. Having a background in Python, Azure Cloud and Angular is preferred. Equity compensation knowledge is a plus.
The Purpose of Your Role
The Data Conversion Specialist will primarily be focused on supporting client implementations and corporate actions. The candidate must be proficient in Mainframe capabilities and able to work between multiple implementations and constantly evolving client requirements. Opportunity to share technical knowledge to help strengthen our engineering community and further pursue learning of modernizing mainframe platform. We're looking for software engineers that enjoy a collaborative environment and have a passion for releasing high quality software through iterative software development practices. You will also be responsible for dev tasks, building and improving existing applications.

Responsibilities
Help us design and develop re-usable Mainframe applications that focus on customer experience needs and optimize quality and deployment practices. Give to the entire development lifecycle from concept to deployment as a member of an agile, multi-functional team.

• Strong programming skills with digital attitude, and fluent Mainframe technology components.
• Are data-driven and can measure, collect and use data to make decisions. We understand the value of intuition and the need to balance decisions accordingly.
• Have strong communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in important discussions.
• Ability to blend development with testing by participating in quality efforts. We consider software quality is ensured through prevention rather than detection
• Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups, both in person and virtually, in a constructive and collaborative manner.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to take on issues and work through ambiguous situations by making timely decisions based on facts, knowledge, experience and judgment

The Skills You Bring

• Strong working experience in CICS, DB2 , VSAM , COBOL and JCL
• Exposure to JAVA / J2EE, Python, Angular and web service application development
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with multiple teams in the organization globally
• Experience with cloud technologies Azure/AWS
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Shown experience and knowledge of Agile development methodology is required.

Education & Experience
Bachelors or any equivalent degree with computer science background with 5+ years of relevant experience.
