Position Summary:
Under the general direction and supervision of the COO, this position participates as a member of the leadership team and oversees internal Health Information Technology (HIT) staff, and collaborates with IT Security and Systems management team via regular communication and project management. Director of HIT is responsible for developing goals and objectives for health information systems technology, including communication systems throughout the organization. In collaboration with other departments, Director of HIT will plan, organize, and execute health information system functions, including support, maintenance, planning, compliance, and advancement of organizational technologies. Director of HIT is responsible for updating and implementing the organization’s IT information and systems security policy; performing day-to-day duties of, and supervising all staff involved in, network administration, support services, and Electronic Health Record (EHR) functions. Responsible for overseeing all tasks and duties relating to: policies and procedures; purchase, partnership of systems administration for installation and operation of hardware and software for computers, training of SWMTCHC personnel to use and maintain computers, EHR systems, voice mail and phone equipment, and various application software packages, such as Microsoft’s Office Professional Suite. Will also provide, organize, and conduct statistical and data analysis duties related to data obtained from the SWMTCHC EHR system. The data and reports generated from the SWMTCHC EHR system contribute to the strategic decision making and organizational alignment of SWMTCHC. This role will work with the clinic reporting staff to gather, develop, analyze, and present reporting data on clinical measures, billing details, and other organizational reporting. This position is on-site, NOT remote.

PCMH is our model of primary care that emphasizes care coordination, communication, and patient engagement to improve the quality of care and patient outcomes. The PCMH model encourages providers to work as a team to coordinate and manage care for patients, provide timely access to care, and use evidence-based practices to improve outcomes. The PCMH model also emphasizes the importance of patient engagement, providing patients with the tools and resources they need to take an active role in their own health care.
