Under the administrative direction of the Deputy Director, Information Technology Branch (ITB), the Chief over EDDNext is responsible for planning, directing, overseeing, and providing direction to the technical delivery office and project controller’s office in support of the EDDNext modernization efforts impacting the Employment Development Department (EDD). This includes but is not limited to the Integrated Claims Management System (ICMS) project, which includes implementation of a new claims benefit system for the Unemployment Insurance, Disability Insurance, and Paid Family Leave programs. The EDDNext Division Chief is also responsible for the overall project management and coordination of resources and workload throughout the project lifecycle. Directs and participates in the formulation of policies for the delivery of EDDNext services statewide.


As a member of EDD’s Executive Staff and the ITB Executive Team, the incumbent participates in executive-level policy and decision-making regarding the direction and effective application of IT to meet EDD’s business goals and objectives.
