Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Outpatient Facility Coder with strong experience in same day surgery and observation services coding. Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes for outpatient facility encounters, including:

  • Same day surgery

  • Observation services

• Ensure coding compliance in accordance with AHIMA and APC guidelines

• Meet daily productivity and quality standards by completing 4–6 complex charts per day

• Collaborate with internal teams to clarify documentation and coding questions as needed

Requirements:

• 3+ years of recent outpatient facility coding experience , with focus on same day surgery and observation

• AHIMA credentials required (e.g., CCS, RHIT, or RHIA)

• Strong understanding of APC reimbursement methodology

• Knowledge of official coding guidelines and payer requirements

• High attention to detail and accuracy in coding complex cases

• Reliable high-speed internet and ability to work independently in a remote setting
