This year’s Teachers’ Day  celebration brought its usual buzz, younger students clutching handmade cards a little too tightly, senior students rehearsing lines for a skit one last time, and somewhere in the staff room, a quiet moment where a teacher reads a note and has to pause before smiling.

Spend even a little time in an NPS Hyderabad classroom and you’ll see what that looks like in practice, a teacher going over the same explanation for the fourth time without a hint of impatience, or noticing that one quiet student in the back row who needs a nudge of encouragement rather than a push.

How NPS Hyderabad Celebrated Teachers Day 2026

The celebrations this year were a mix of tradition and a fair bit of chaos in the best possible way.

Senior students took over classes for the day, and if you’ve never seen a Grade 10 student try to control a room full of Grade 6 kids, you’re missing out, it’s equal parts hilarious and genuinely eye-opening for them. A few came out of it saying they’d never realised how much energy their own teachers put in every single day.

There was also a cultural program, dance, music, a couple of skits that clearly took more rehearsal time than anyone let on. Many of the performances circled back to the same idea: respect, gratitude, and what it means to have someone believe in you before you believe in yourself.

And of course, there were the cards. Simple, a little messy, occasionally misspelled, and somehow still the part of Teachers Day 2026 that seemed to land hardest with the teachers.

The school also took a moment to formally recognise a few long-serving faculty members, some of whom have been shaping classrooms at NPS Hyderabad for well over a decade.

When we spoke with a few of the senior faculty afterward, none of them talked about the syllabus or the results. Instead, it was the small stuff, a student who finally got a concept after weeks of struggling, or a shy kid who found the courage to speak up in front of the whole class for the first time. That, more than anything, is what seems to keep teachers at NPS Hyderabad going year after year.

Students had their own stories too, usually about one particular teacher who changed how they felt about a subject, or about themselves.
